MOVE Week Bulgaria
04/05/2018This year MOVE Week Bulgaria will be held from May 28th to June 3rd 2018. The week-long festival offers a range of exciting sport and physical activity events. BG Be active (BGBA) is expecting big uptake in this massive celebration and the active participation of municipalities, sport clubs, NGOs, schools and volunteers. Running the NowWeMOVE campaign this year resulted in building partnerships and engagement of various institutions.
In April, BG Be active, organised two training sessions for youth MOVE Agents. This way BGBA launched the implementation of activities from the NowWeMOVE campaign in 2018. Both trainings were held at the Youth Center Plovdiv. As an experienced event coordinator and organiser of the NowWeMOVE campaign for Bulgaria, the association shared its knowhow and good practices. The training workshop provided new insights and skills on topics such as: media communication, building partnerships, goal settings, working with volunteers, peer education.
During the training, young people received useful tips and information about: successful teamwork, planning and conducting events, working with volunteers, allocation of resources, fundraising, working with media and PR.
Until now we have many registered events on the territory of the whole country and expect more to come. During MOVE Week, the residents of many Bulgarian cities will have again the opportunity to find their move. Sofia, Plovdiv, Montana, Pomorie, Pleven, Varna, Yambol, Rousse, Dobrich, Blagoevgrad, Vratsa, Bourgas, Kazanlak, Sliven have been actively involved each year.
In 2018, schools in Bulgaria will have the opportunity to join the Week with their own event and thus to receive bonus points in the final evaluation of their participation in the NowWeMOVE campaign. The first 40 schools that have announced their participation and registered their event will receive the supporting materials to organize their events.
