Bringing the human right to move back into focus

9/7/2020

The COVID-19 pandemic has affected human lives in so many ways, with the restriction of our right to move and be physically active being the most obvious – and one of the more severe as well.

In his presentation in our MOVE Week webinar “Public Space and Physical Activity During and After COVID-19” ISCA President Mogens Kirkeby explores the implications of physical limitation on the sports sector. He points to a number of issues arising from COVID-19 restrictions that could affect our human right to move.

He also points out the declining attention to physical inactivity on the political ranking, as “public health today means only COVID-19”, he says, explaining why this should serve as a signal to activate organisations working in the sports sector.
